Taking back control2020

‘Taking back Control’ is my response to the first COVID19 lockdown. The collage explores re-wilding and challenges pre-conceptions about the industrial landscapes of South Wales. Ideally the collage will be printed as one large image, but for ease is shown here as a triptych. The images were shot during a lockdown walk near Blaenavon, which 200 years ago was the epicenter of the industrial revolution. Now a world heritage site, much of the areas industrialised landscape has now come full circle and returned to the wild. Whilst we all deal with the impact of COVID19, nature is doing its best to help us slow down and deal with the world we now find ourselves in. The piece reflects on how many have found solace and a source of positivity in spending time in nature.
